Welcome to Faith UMC

Our Goals

We will build community by:

  • Welcoming all people to worship, grow, serve, and care
  • Connecting people with God and each other
  • Bridging diverse communities and cultures
  • Partnering with others for community transformation

Our Values

  • Faith – We will grow in the Lord Jesus Christ
  • People – We will celebrate them in all their diversity
  • Fellowship – We will build meaningful relationships
  • Generosity – We will share God’s blessings with those around us
  • Service- We will do God’s work in our church, community, and world

We envision a community of people rich in diversity who follow Jesus together and eagerly welcome others (Matthew 28:19). We envision a church where relationships are intentionally formed and cultivated, where care and healing are given when we are hurting or broken, and where all persons are given room to express their God-given gifts. We envision extending that reality to our neighbors by creating opportunities for community to form, grow, and flourish. We long to see neighbors intentionally bless and serve one another, and for barriers of race, class, age, and culture to be broken down. We believe that our church has a unique opportunity to bear witness to unity, reconciliation, and love in a way that will enable our community to reflect the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

Faith United Methodist Church pledges to conduct the ministry of Jesus Christ in ways that ensure the physical and emotional safety and spiritual growth of all of our children, youth, and vulnerable adults as well as all of our workers who serve in these capacities.  Review our Safe Sanctuaries Policy to learn more about how we do this.

Where we started…

Fox Chapel United Methodist Church began in 1891 as a small frame chapel on the old John Fox homestead. It became a landmark and by 1915 gave its name to Fox Chapel Rd.

Sixty-seven years later, a new brick building was dedicated among the flowering trees, ancient oaks, and scattered wildflowers a short distance from the original site.

A congregation has worshipped, studied, loved, served, and grown into a family of love ever since. We invite you to become part of our church family.
